Who We Are

The Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) is the trusted and effective voice of the road transport industry that supports its members. Founded in 1966, the APTA is an Atlantic wide non-profit industry association formed to advocate on advancing and improving the commercial trucking industry in Atlantic Canada.

APTA's membership is comprised of motor carriers, industry suppliers and other stakeholders. The APTA represents over 320 members across Atlantic Canada, some of which are among Canada's largest trucking companies.



Executive Director 

Jean-Marc is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Association. He works closely with the government on legislative and regulatory issues to defend the interests of his members. Jean-Marc has 25 years of experience in the transportation industry and has extensive experience in the areas of policy development, government and public relations, advocacy and strategic communications. Jean-Marc has been with the Association for over 8 years.

Office Administrator

Micheline is responsible for the day-to-day front office operations of the Association, product sales, fuel surcharge and all accounting. She is also responsible for the management of the LCV Training Program and the Commercial Vehicle Wheel Service Training Program. As well, she manages special projects such as the GoodLife fitness memberships. Micheline is fluently bilingual and has her degree in Business with a Major in Accounting. She has over 20 years experience in accounting and office administration. She has been with the APTA for over 7 years.

Communication &
Public Relations Manager

Amélie is responsible for all communication and public relations of the Association such as the activity report, the From the Road quarterly newsletter, press releases, letters to government officials, marketing of events, advertising, website and social media. She is fluently bilingual and has her degree in Business with a Major in Marketing. Amélie has over 15 years experience in the marketing and communications field and has been with the APTA for 3 years.

Transport Liaison Officer

Steve is responsible for building and enhancing brand awareness of the road transportation industry with target audiences and stakeholders including high schools, educators, career councillors, and the public. He works with APTA members in support of their recruitment programs that provide exciting career opportunities to people throughout Atlantic Canada. Steve joined the Association in 2018, bringing extensive experience in consumer education, stakeholder relations, and program development to the transportation industry.
